How to Escape God’s Physical Judgment On Earth

Ephesians 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”

We are supposed to allow the Spirit of God to fully control our everything we do, speak and think, just as wine controls a person who is drunk with it. This is also called walking in the Spirit in Galatians 5:16 and this verse also states that if we are walking in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Therefore, if we continually pray and ask God to help us to allow His Spirit to fully control us, and we strive to allow Him to, then we can be assured that we are right with Him and that His judgment will pass over us as His wrath is being poured out on this wicked world (Luke 21:36, Psalm 91:7, and Proverbs 3:25-26).

I had been taught this as a teenager and God brought it back to my mind recently and it has given me peace. God is not unpredictable, as some people I know who have been, but He has revealed to us through His Word everything we need to know to be able to please Him so that we can escape not only Hell (which is by simple faith in Jesus Christ Romans 10:9), but also harsh chastisement.

The Bible teaches that all Christians are chastised , but the severity of our chastisement is dependent of our heart towards God (Hebrews 12:7).

We just have to study His Word with a seeking and obedient heart of faith and He will teach us everything we need to know. Thank God for His Word and His Holy Spirit indwelling in us to teach us His Word, but remember to whom much is given much is also expected (Hebrews 12:7).

So many times we look back at great people in the Old Testament like Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Daniel for their faithfulness and obedience to God, and we should, because they did not have the whole Bible nor did they have the Holy Spirit indwelling in them as we do.

We are commanded to be more faithful to God then they were (including Job, who God saw as perfect), because we have the complete Word of God and the Holy Spirit indwelling in us. We have no excuse!

If you do not have a Bible, here is a online one that you can study http://www.justbible.com. If you are a new Christian or have not read the Bible much for a while, you should start reading in the New Testament in the book of John.
