Kim Davis has been released from jail, but she is still being ordered to not hinder the deputy clerks from issuing marriage licenses to homosexuals with her name on the licenses. I pray that Kim Davis and Liberty Counsel keep fighting this. Judges cannot create new laws. The Supreme Court does not have the authority to redefine marriage. The Supreme Court ruling allowing homosexuals to marry is an illegal ruling. Congress must step in and stop this.
There is a bill in Congress right now called The State Marriage Defense Act (S. 435 in the Senate and HR 824 in the House) that would forbid federal judges from defining marriage and would reserve that right to the States. And then there is also the Marriage Protection Amendment (H. J. Res. 32 in the House and S. J. Res 12 in the Senate) that would add the definition of marriage as being a union between one man and one woman to the Constitution. If either one of these gets passed, it would overturn the Supreme Court’s decision.
I personally like the amendment best, but the one reserving the right to define marriage to the States may be able to get passed faster.
Please contact your Representative and Senators telling to support both of these bills. You can find your Representative’s contact information at http://house.gov, and you can find your Senators’ contact information at http://senate.gov. Let your leaders know that if they do not support these bills, then they will lose your vote in the next election.
Please keep praying for Kim Davis and Liberty Counsel as they continue fighting.
